From the end of the world, we want to invite you to explore the life of our living culture: through real people, authentic stories, laborious traditions and landscapes, that through orality the ancients Kawésqar navigate in time to be present today and share this space with you.

Our territory extends through the western part of the southern tip of the continent, from the Taitao Peninsula in the north to the Brecknock Peninsula in the Fuegian archipelago in the south, where it meets the Usi Yagan territory.
Our uninterrupted presence for more than6,000 years Navigating the deepest corners of this region, transformed and civilized by the Chilean state, converted into the province and current Region of Magallanes (1929), roots us to this land with a meaning little understood by those who do not belong to this culture and our groups. relatives.
Today the Kawésqar are a population of more than 500 inhabitants, organized in family groups recognized as indigenous communities (Law 19,253), we mostly inhabit the territory and are concentrated in populated centers such as Puerto Edén, Puerto Natales, Punta Arenas, Porvenir and Puerto Williams.

Área Kawésqar de Conservación y Divulgación Biocultural Indígena
La Fundación Pueblo Kawésqar junto a la Comunidad indígena Ancón Sin Salida y el operador de turismo indígena Čenák, desarrollan juntos la iniciativa que busca visibilizar el patrimonio natural del Pueblo Kawésqar en la región de Magallanes, invitando a conocer desde cerca el amplio territorio y rica cultura ancestral, visitando a 63.5 kilómetros al sur de Punta Arenas, junto al Estrecho de Magallanes y a los pies del Monte Tarn, el ecosistema que habitan hace siglos, los nómades canoeros del sur.
El Área Kawésqar de conservación y divulgación biocultural indígena de Bahía Voces ocupa una superficie de 170 Km cuadrados, ubicada entre el río San Juan y Bahía El Águila, la cual representa el 0,1% del territorio ancestral Kawésqar.
Este espacio natural tiene su zona núcleo en el hogar de la Comunidad Kawésqar Ancón sin Salida, donde se desarrolla el turismo indígena, las actividades educativas, recreativas y ancestrales de la cultura Kawésqar, como son la recolección y tejido del junquillo para la cestería, la recolección de mariscos y pesca de productos para la gastronomía, así como se lleva a cabo la medicina ancestral, la navegación, entre otros.
En este rincón de la amplia región austral, la comunidad local, visitantes y turistas pueden vivenciar, a través de experiencias de inmersión cultural, senderos y navegaciones, desde cerca, lo que viven en el presente los Kawésqar de ayer y de hoy.
